asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will express the receipts and payments of the Social Insurance Fund for the year ended 31st March, 1959, Part I (Pr. 5332) in the form of an average weekly contribution per insured person in shillings and pence, having regard to the total number of social insurance stamps sold in 1958-59 and the net contributions from employers and insured persons; if he will express the total average weekly contributions in the form (i) contributions from employers and insured persons, (ii) contributions from investments, etc., (iii) Exchequer contributions and (iv) total average weekly contribution; and if he will express (a) each of the seven classes of benefit payments, (b) administrative expenses and (c) the total payments as an average weekly proportionate part of (iv) in shillings and pence.

The required information is as follows:

Receipts and Payments of the Social Insurance Fund (Part I of the Current Account) for the year 1958-59 expressed as an average weekly amount in respect of each insured person out of an estimated effectively insured population of 707,000 at 31st March, 1959.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will express the estimated receipts and payments of the Social Insurance Fund for 1958-59 (Pr. 5332) on the assumption that the contributions and benefits proposed in the Social Welfare (Amendment) Bill, 1960 had been in operation in 1958-59, in the form of the previous reply.

The required information is as follows:—

Estimated Receipts and Payments of the Social Insurance Fund (Part I of the Current Account) for the year 1958-59 expressed as an average weekly amount in respect of each insured person out of an estimated effectively insured population of 707,000 at 31st March, 1959, on the assumption that the contributions and benefits proposed in the Social Welfare (Amendment) Bill, 1960, had been in operation in the year 1958-59.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the estimated (a) receipts and (b) payments of the Social Insurance Fund for 1958-59 (Pr. 5332), having regard to the number and classes of insurance stamps sold in that year, if the benefits and contributions proposed in the Social Welfare (Amendment) Bill, 1960 had been in operation in 1958-59, in the form of Table I of the Accounts of the Social Insurance Fund for 1958-59.

The following Table shows the estimated receipts and payments of the Social Insurance Fund for 1958-59 adjusted to include the estimated receipts and payments arising from the proposals in the Social Welfare (Amendment) Bill, 1960:—
