Written Answers. - Family Farm Income, Hired Labour Expenses and Labour Units.

asked the Taoiseach if he will give particulars of family farm income, hired labour expenses and labour units in respect of farms included in the National Farm Survey 1957-58, East and Midland Region, giving separate details for (1) farms having hired labour expenses and (2) farms having family labour expenses only, indicating under heading (1) for each size group (a) family farm income, (b) number of family labour units, (c) income per head of family labour, (d) number of hired labour units (and employment in weeks), (e) hired labour expenses and (f) hired labour expenses per unit of hired labour, and under heading (2) for each size group (i) family farm income, (ii) number of family labour units, and (iii) income per head of family labour, expressing (f) as a percentage of (iii); and if there are not sufficient farms in the sample for regional details, if he will give particulars for all regions combined.

Details of family farm income, hired labour expenses and labour units, as requested by the Deputy, in respect of farms included in the National Farm Survey 1957/58, East and Midland Region, are given in the following tables:—
