Vol. 182 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Dispensary Areas in Limerick.

4.

asked the Minister for Health what proposals exist in his Department from the Limerick Corporation for the creation of new dispensary areas in Limerick city; and the present position in regard to them.

I have recently received tentative proposals from Limerick Corporation for the re-division of the city area into seven dispensary districts in lieu of the five existing districts. The matter is one of some complexity and it will be some little time before it will be possible to reach a decision thereon. In conjunction with this proposal the Corporation also requested my approval to the appointment of two temporary district medical officers for Limerick city in addition to the five district medical officers already employed there. I have sanctioned the proposed appointments.
