asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of separate deposit accounts in the Post Office Savings Bank, and the total amount of the deposits at the latest date for which information is available.

On 30th April, 1960 the number of separate deposit accounts open was 1,145,000 (approximately) and the total amount of the deposits was £83,641,000 (approximately). In addition, an amount of £14,290,000 was held on deposit on behalf of Trustee Savings Banks.
