Vol. 182 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cancer Association of Ireland: Deficit.

2.

asked the Minister for Health what is the deficit of the Cancer Association of Ireland for the year 1959.

As the report of the Hospitals' Commission on the accounts for the year 1959 of the bodies participating in the scheme for grants from the Hospitals' Trust Fund towards revenue deficits has not yet been furnished to me I regret that I am unable to supply the information requested by the Deputy.

The deficit of the Cancer Association of Ireland for the year 1959 as stated in estimates furnished to the Hospitals' Commission early in that year is £55,400, off which £51,400 is applicable to St. Luke's Hospital and the balance to the clinics which the Association is conducting in various towns.
