asked the Minister for Lands the total acreage of land purchased for forestry purposes in County Wicklow each year since 1957 and the present plantable reserve.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to give the information requested by the Deputy in the form of a tabular statement which will be circulated with the official report.

Following is the statement:—

The nominal plantable reserve of land held in Co. Wicklow on 31st March, 1960, was approximately 4,300 acres.

asked the Minister for Lands what progress has been made in acquiring land in the Glenealy area, County Wicklow, for nursery purposes.

The Forestry Division of my Department has agreed to purchase an area of 72 acres at Ballymanus in the Glenealy area for nursery purposes. Title to the area is at present in course of clearance and the sale will be closed as quickly as possible.
