Vol. 183 No. 4

Pensions (Increase) Bill, 1960—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to provide for the increase of certain pensions payable in respect of public services.—(Minister for Finance.)

I do not propose to take the Second Stage until after the Recess.

It can be ordered for next week.

Nominally ordered for next week, but it will not be taken until after the Recess.

What is the point in ordering it for next week?

I do not know, but a date has to be put down.

And when is it proposed to adjourn?

I wish I knew.

The Minister is giving a nominal date for next week but the Bill will not be circulated by then?

Will the pension increases be paid?

They will be paid from the 1st August, on the Supplementary Estimate.
