asked the Minister for Education the number of national school children who passed the Primary Certificate examination and the number who failed in (a) 1958 and (b) 1959.

asked the Minister for Education the number of pupils between thirteen and fourteen years of age who had not reached sixth standard in (a) 1957-58 and (b) 1958-59.

The number of pupils between thirteen and fourteen years of age who had not reached sixth standard in each of the years 1957-58 and 1958-59 was 14,934 and 15,326 respectively.

asked the Minister for Education the number of untrained teachers employed in national schools at the commencement of the 1959 school year.

The number of untrained teachers employed in national schools on 1st July, 1959, was as follows:—

The average daily number of pupils per teacher in national schools for each of the years 1956-57, 1957-58 and 1958-59 was 30.

asked the Minister for Education the average daily number of pupils per teacher in national schools in Dublin for (a) 1956-57, (b) 1957-58 and (c) 1958-59.

The average daily number of pupils per teacher in national schools in Dublin for each of the years 1956-57, 1957-58 and 1958-59 was 39, 38 and 38, respectively.
