Vol. 183 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Portlaoise Hospital Wages Award.

2.

asked the Minister for Health why the increase in wages awarded to the domestic staff at the County Hospital, Portlaoise, to date from 5th December, 1959, has not been paid.

My approval has been conveyed to all proposals by the Laois County Council in regard to increases in the remuneration of staffs for whom I am the appropriate Minister. In the case of the domestic staff in the county hospital, Portlaoise, the approval was conveyed on 7th June, 1960, and the increases which, in common with those granted in the public services generally, take effect from 15th December, 1959, will, I am informed, be paid on 1st July next which is the normal monthly pay-day.
