Vol. 183 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wexford House Demolition Orders.

7.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the number of current house demolition orders in operation in Wexford town.

Returns are furnished annually by each housing authority regarding demolition orders made by them under the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1931. In the case of Wexford Corporation the last return was furnished in September, 1959, in respect of the year ended 31st March, 1959. This shows that, at the latter date, the cumulative total of houses which the corporation had ordered to be demolished was 318. Of these 237 had actually been demolished leaving a balance of 81 still the subject of demolition Orders.

A return for the year ended 31st March, 1960, has not yet been furnished.
