asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he intends to review the present inequitable amount paid to Limerick Corporation in respect of the fuel scheme; and what are the amounts paid to other local authorities and the method of calculating such payments.

So far from Limerick being treated inequitably it has been specially favoured as it is the only city or town situated in a turf area which has a grant under the cheap fuel scheme. The reply to the first part of the question is, therefore, in the negative.
The amounts recoupable from the State grant to the other local authorities in respect of the 1959-60 scheme are as follows:—

The foregoing payments represent the net cost of fuel issues after deducting the amount of contributions paid by beneficiaries and the amounts paid by the public assistance authorities in respect of the cost of fuel issued to home assistance recipients.
