Vol. 184 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Stillorgan Technical School.

48.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the need for a new technical school at Stillorgan, County Dublin; and when work is likely to start on a new school.

I am not convinced, on the evidence at present available to me, that the erection of a vocational school, providing whole-time day courses as well as evening classes, at Stillorgan is necessary. The County Dublin Vocational Education Committee has requested me to receive a deputation in the matter. When I have had the opportunity of considering whatever additional information they may put before me, I shall be in a position to take a definite decision as to whether the proposal should be allowed to go forward at this stage or not.
