Vol. 184 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National and Municipal Gallery Curators.

50.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that the salaries of the curators of the Dublin Municipal Gallery and the National Gallery are inadequate, and that a vacancy at present exists for a curator at the Municipal Gallery; and, if so, if he will consider taking steps to amalgamate the two positions to-provide an adequate salary for the curator for the two Galleries.

I am not aware that the salary of the Director of the National Gallery is inadequate. The conditions governing, and the appointment to, the post of Curator of the Dublin Municipal Gallery are matters in relation to which I have no function.
