Vol. 184 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Valentia Bridge, Portmagee (Kerry).

35.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the consultant and the Departments concerned with the erection of the Valentia Bridge at Portmagee, County Kerry, will have completed all necessary data so that advertisements may be issued inviting tenders for its construction.

At a conference held in June last between the parties concerned it was decided that the Kerry County Council's Consulting Engineer should prepare a report dealing comprehensively with the various matters which require to be investigated before the detailed planning of the new bridge to Valentia can proceed. It is understood that the council have now received this report and are considering it. I am not at present in a position to say when the council will be in a position to invite tenders for the new bridge.
