asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of the last three financial years (a) the total amount of income tax collected, excluding surtax and supertax, (b) the amount of surtax and the number of persons concerned and (c) the amount of supertax and the number of persons concerned.

As the reply contains statistical material I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.

As regards (c) of the Question, Super-tax is no longer levied, having been discontinued for years subsequent to 1928/29 under the provisions of Section 2 of the Finance Act, 1928.
