Vol. 185 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Differential Rents: Children's Allowances.

41.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether children's allowances are counted as income for the purpose of assessing differential rents.

Differential renting schemes generally exclude children's allowances from the assessment of family income. Schemes differ in detail and it is not indicated in every scheme if such allowances are excluded. No scheme provides specifically that children's allowances are to be included in income assessable for rent.
