Vol. 185 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Development of Dingle Fishing Port.

59.

asked the Minister for Lands whether his attention has been drawn to a report that close on £100,000 may be spent on the development of Dingle fishing port in the near future; if he will state the nature and number of schemes included in the proposed expenditure; and when a decision is likely to be forthcoming in respect of them.

I have seen the newspaper report in question and note that it goes on to describe the reference to expenditure on development as a hope expressed by members of a deputation. I made it clear to the deputation that no expenditure from State funds could be proposed pending detailed examination of their various suggestions. Engineering advice has been sought from the Office of Public Works.
