Vol. 185 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Case of Police Dogs.

26.

asked the Minister for Justice the expenses agreed to be paid by the Garda authorities to men who take on the care and feeling of police dogs.

It is proposed to pay each man, who will have charge of a police dog, a weekly allowance of 15/-. The cost of the dogs' food, estimated to be about £1 per dog per week, will be met from official funds.

Could I ask the Minister for Justice if he could, recommend to the Minister for Social Welfare to review the 27/6d. a week now paid to old age pensioners?

We shall give the Deputy £1 to keep him quiet.

A lot the Minister cares.

He was all right when he voted the Minister's Government into office.
