Vol. 185 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shelters and Heaters for Forestry Workers.

36.

asked the Minister for Lands if some form of tents or huts are available for each forestry gang to provide shelter for the workers while they are having a meal or during a period of inclement weather on working days if a suitable heater is provided in such tents or huts; and, if not, if he will ensure that such heaters will be made available for the comfort of the workmen when they are obliged to take shelter or during mealtimes.

Shelters are provided at all work-sites for the men. As the shelters are mainly of wooden construction, and having regard to the fire hazards involved, it is not the practice to fit them with stoves or heaters.
