As I intimated to the Deputy in reply to a question on the subject in Dáil Éireann on 26th October last, representations have been made to the U.S. Authorities for an import quota for Irish sugar. These representations, it is understood, are at present under consideration by the U.S. Authorities. Sugar products are not subject to import quota on entry to the U.S.
