asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of commissions appointed by him which are at present functioning, the respective dates of their appointment and the subject matter for consideration by each commission where this is not apparent from its title.

There is only one Commission—appointed by the then Minister for Social Welfare on the 21st December, 1955—at present functioning. That is the Commission on Workmen's Compensation.

No inter-departmental committees appointed by the Minister for Social Welfare are at present functioning.
