asked the Minister for Lands if he is now in a position to state the result of the conferences between his Department and the Office of Public Works on the extension of Ballycotton pier, County Cork.

As I said on a previous occasion, I doubt if an effective scheme of improvements for Ballycotton harbour can be devised at reasonable cost. Efforts are, however, being continued to find a solution of the problem. A technical discussion with engineering representatives of Cork County Council has been arranged and will take place within the next fortnight.
