Vol. 186 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export Statistics.

8.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state for each of the years 1958, 1959 and 1960 (a) the numbers or quantities of and (b) the value of the following exports to the countries designated: (1) washing machines sold to Austria, (2) electric heaters sold to Japan, (3) steel sold to Singapore, (4) agricultural machinery sold to Africa, (5) sewing machines sold to Germany, (6) pharmaceuticals sold to Ceylon, (7) tyres sold to Burma, (8) linen sold to the Philippines and (9) radios sold to Pakistan.

As the compilation of the information required by the Deputy will take some time, I should be glad if he would repeat his question in a fortnight's time.

Surely the Parliamentary Secretary has that information available in view of the fact that the Minister for Transport and Power outlined the position with regard to these exports at a recent Chamber of Commerce dinner in Tralee?

The Deputy can be quite sure that anything the Minister for Transport and Power said is correct.

If the Minister for Transport and Power has these figures, surely they must be available to the Parliamentary Secretary?
