1. The question has been taken as referring to increases granted with effect from 1st January, 1960, or later.

2. The figures relate to the pay of (i) married men or (ii) unmarried men whose remuneration is not governed by differentiation on a marriage basis.

I understood from what the Minister said last week that all categories had been included either in an earlier arrangement or in the most recent arrangement. If there are a few exceptions, would the Minister favourably consider them if they are brought to his notice?

I should like the Deputy to let me know the exceptions he thinks should be included.

I understand there are a few cases which are not included in either arrangement.

I think there are a few which are not published yet because negotiations are not complete.

Would the Minister say what was the operative date? Was it the same in all cases?

It was not. In some cases it went back to January, 1960, and in some cases to 1st April, 1960.

Could the Minister say precisely why there was a differentiation?

First of all, there is the consideration that we do not go back before the claim was made. That is one reason. There are other considerations as well.
