Vol. 187 No. 3

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 5, 12, 13, 14 and 15. If not already reached, it is proposed to interrupt business at 1 p.m. and to take Nos. 13, 14 and 15 and, when completed, to resume the order.

Will the Taoiseach give us an idea when we are likely to reach the motion on C.I.E.?

I am prepared to order it for to-day.

But it will not be reached. The Taoiseach has been doing this now for the past month—putting it on the Order Paper, but putting three or four Bills before it and thus not giving us a chance to reach it.

Eventually we shall reach it.

We would not be half as long reaching it were it not for the Minister for Health on the Mental Treatment Bill.

There is a natural fear among Deputies, particularly in respect to the Tramore and the West Cork Railways, and they would like to get a chance to discuss this motion.

As the Deputy will understand, there is a certain amount of financial business which must be disposed of. It might be possible to fit it in next week.

I think that would meet Deputy T. Lynch.

Could the Minister say whether the new Electoral Bill will be published next week?

I hope so. It depends to some extent on the Parliamentary Draftsman's Office.

There are the wildest rumours about that Bill.

There are 147 rumours.
