Vol. 187 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milverton National School, Skerries.

31.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that work has not yet commenced on the reconstruction and extension of Milverton national school, Skerries, County Dublin, and that no safe supply of water or proper sanitary facilities have yet been provided; if he will state the present position of the reconstruction proposals; and if he will explain the cause of the delay in commencing work, and indicate the probable date on which work will commence.

I am aware that the scheme of improvements for Milverton National School, Skerries, County Dublin, has not yet commenced. A water flushed system of sanitation is included in the scheme and a well has been sunk to provide the necessary supply of water. Detailed working drawings have been completed by the Office of Public Works and the preparation of the specification is in hands. Copies of these documents will have to be made before the tenders can be invited. I understand that tenders will be invited about the end of next month. It is anticipated that building operations will commence shortly afterwards.
