The total amount provided during the current financial year for payment of fees to Veterinary Surgeons under the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Scheme is £1,301,000 and the total number of Veterinary Surgeons carrying out tests under the Scheme is 666. This would indicate an average of about £1,950 per veterinary surgeon but the actual figure will not of course be available until after the close of the financial year.
