Vol. 187 No. 9

Ceisteanna-Questions Oral Answers. - Offer of Wexford Lands for Forestry.

16.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is prepared to avail of an offer of 59 acres of land adjoining the forest at Bree, County Wexford, from a landowner in view of the fact that the land is admirably suitable for either nursery or forestry work.

No offer of land has been received by my Department from the landowner mentioned. As the Deputy was informed in reply to his question of 9th February, 1961, the nursery needs of this area are already adequately provided for by existing nurseries in Wexford. If, however, the land in question is suitable for planting, I would be very glad to see it acquired and I am, accordingly, arranging to have it inspected at an early date.
