asked the Minister for Social Welfare (1) if he will give particulars of social insurance stamps sold in the year ended 31st March, 1960, in the form of a reply of 23rd February, 1960, and the yield of 1d. and 1/-, respectively; (2) if he will state the social welfare contributions paid by (i) State Departments (ii) local authorities and (iii) semi-State bodies in 1960-61, expressing those contributions as "insurance stamps sold" giving the yield of 1d. and 1/-respectively; and (3) if he will state the estimated number of insured persons employed by (i) (ii) and (iii).

The information requested at (1) is as given in reply to a similar question on 31st May, 1960. Particulars for the year ended 31st March, 1961, will not be available until about the end of May.

As regards (2) and (3), the information requested is not available as the particulars, except those relating to certain pensionable employees and soldiers, are not separately recorded.
