Vol. 188 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - East Galway Lands for Division and Forestry.

18.

asked the Minister for Lands the number of acres of land held by his Department in East Galway for (a) division and (b) forestry purposes.

Land Commission records are not kept by reference to specific districts such as that mentioned in the Question. In Co. Galway as a whole, however, the Land Commission have on hands for division an area of approximately 3,600 acres of arable land.

As regards the Forestry Division of my Department, I can say that the total area on hands in East Galway for afforestation purposes is 29,183 acres.
