Vol. 188 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - C.I.E. Pensions.

13.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power when those retired employees of Coras Iompair Éireann who were, prior to their employment with Coras Iompair Éireann, employees of the Great Northern Railway Company, Limited, will have their pensions increased retrospectively to the comparative Coras Iompair Éireann level.

C.I.E. have informed me that a scheme to amend the Great Northern Railway Wages Staff Pension Fund, with a view to bringing the pensions payable to members of that Fund who were transferred to C.I.E. up to the level of pensions payable under the C.I.E. Pension Scheme for wages grade employees, is in the course of preparation and that the amending scheme will be submitted to me at an early date. I understand that the Board have in mind that the amending scheme will be retrospective to 1st October, 1958. Public notice will be given and an opportunity afforded to interested parties to make their representations before the scheme is confirmed.
