Vol. 188 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pensions and Gratuities of Agricultural Workers on State Farms.

7.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give full particulars of the pension or retiring gratuity applicable to agricultural workers on the State farms.

Agricultural workers on State farms, in common with unestablished civil servants generally, are eligible for gratuities under Section 4 of the Superannuation Act, 1887, and Section 3 of the Superannuation Act, 1914. Under these enactments, provided that a certain period of full-time vote-paid service has been rendered, a gratuity of one week's pay for each year of service may be granted to an unestablished officer who retires or is discharged or to the dependants of an unestablished officer who dies in service.
