Vol. 189 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - World Bank Mission

8.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is yet in a position to announce the outcome of the visit by officials of the World Bank to this country; if the Government was furnished with a report by the team of experts; and, if so, if it is proposed to publish the report.

The members of the World Bank mission to which the Deputy refers are at present engaged in preparing a report on their visit to this country. Preparation of the report has been delayed by the illness of one of the mission members.

Is the Minister not in a position to say when he expects to receive the report?

I expect the report in the course of weeks, but I am not sure.

Is it intended to publish the report——

——or to retain it for consideration for some time before publishing?

That has not been decided yet, whether to wait and publish the decisions of the Government or publish it in full and deal with it afterwards.

Will the Minister consider, in the event of a decision not to publish it generally, making it available to Deputies as soon as it reaches him? I appreciate that the Minister, perhaps, cannot give a decision here and now but possibly he will consider the matter?

I shall consider it.
