Vol. 189 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wexford Housing Scheme.

26.

asked the Minister for Local Government what progress has been made in the erection of thirty houses at John Street, Wexford, since sanction for their erection was conveyed to the Wexford Corporation.

I understand that the levelling of this site commenced about the middle of April last and setting-out is now in progress.

Will the Minister say on what date it was eventually sanctioned?

There is a long history attached to this matter. I have a date here—9th September—but that is not the last word. There were negotiations thereafter.

Does the Minister consider that sufficient progress has been made?

Judging by the undoubted case there was for urgency in this matter, it does seem that not a great deal of progress has been made.
