Vol. 189 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Population Figures.

3.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Taoiseach whether there are as yet any figures of the recent census available to indicate the extent of the fall in population since 1956; if so, if he will furnish them; and, if not, when he expects that they will be available.

No figures are yet available as to the population returned at the 1961 Census of Population. It is not possible at this stage to state when the Preliminary Report which it is proposed to issue will be published, but it is hoped to produce it in the Autumn of 1961.
