The lands remaining unplanted at Ballyknockan are irregular shaped plots which it would not be economic to develop and the Department is in course of negotiating a rather complicated series of arrangements with adjoining landowners so as to secure a compact forest block. Some progress has been made with these arrangements but it is necessary to defer further planting until they are completed.
