Vol. 189 No. 8

Written Answers. - Health Service Charges.

23.

asked the Minister for Health the estimated amount collected by health authorities for the year ended 31st March, 1960 (in expansion of a reply of 15th March, 1961) from (a) insured persons, (b) farmers, (c) self-employed persons and (d) other qualified persons, and the total collection, expressing (a), (b), (c) and (d) as a percentage of the total collection; and the approximate number of persons and dependants eligible for services under section 15 (2) (b) of the Health Act, 1953.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his question on the 17th of this month in which I indicated the reasons for which it is not possible to form an estimate of the amount of income appropriate to any one of the categories of patients receiving services under the provisions of Section 15 of the Health Act, 1953. For the same reasons it would be impossible to calculate the number of persons and dependants who come within the definition of any single category covered by that Section.
