Vol. 189 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fluorine in Foodstuffs.

5.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Health whether he has yet received a report from the Food Advisory Committee regarding the desirability or otherwise of limiting by regulation the amount of fluorine in foodstuffs; and, if so, whether he will indicate the nature of the Committee's recommendations with particular reference to the dangerous situation which will arise if very conservative standards are not enforced following implementation of the Health (Fluoridation of Water Supplies) Act.

I have received no report from the Food Advisory Committee regarding the desirability or otherwise of limiting by regulation the amount of fluorine in foodstuffs.
