asked the Minister for Lands the centres in which afforestation work is in progress in Laois-Offaly; and the number of men employed in each district.

There are nine State Forests in Laois and Offaly—Clonaslee, Durrow, Emo, Mountrath, Ossory, Portlaoise, Stradbally in Laois and Kinnitty and Tullamore in Offaly. Work is in progress at various properties in each of these Forests. The total number of men employed at present at each centre is as follows:—

Clonaslee, 33; Durrow, 35; Emo, 58; Mountrath, 47 Ossory, 56; Portlaoise, 16; Stradbally, 23; Kinnitty, 47; Tullamore, 16, a gross total of 331 men.
