Prior to August, 1958, Land Commission advances to supplement housing grants provided by the Department of Local Government ranged from £40 (minimum) to £100 (maximum), depending on security — the basis of calculation being ten times the unrevised annuity on the applicant's holding. Since August, 1958, advances ranging from £100 (minimum) to £200 (maximum), depending on security, have been available — the basis of calculation being twenty times the applicant's unrevised annuity.
The number of such advances made from August, 1958, to date is 82.
