Vol. 192 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Castletownbere (Co. Cork) Pier.

3.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is prominde posed to commence work on the construction of Castletownbere Pier, County Cork.

A contract for a boring and soil testing survey was placed recently, and when the results of it are available, in approximately six months' time, the design of the new works to be undertaken will be put in hands. I cannot say at this stage when construction work on the site is likely to be commenced.

I assume the Parliamentary Secretary will assure the House there will be no undue delay. His answer is a little more definite than usual from such quarters. I hope that when the six months have expired, he will be ready to go ahead with the main works.
