Vol. 192 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyfermot Free Fuel Depot.

32.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he is aware that it is a great hardship for poor people to take fuel in handcarts, etc., a long distance from the nearest depot to their homes in Ballyfermot, Dublin; and if he will consider having a fuel depot located more conveniently for recipients of fuel allowances in this area.

The operation of the cheap fuel scheme in the Dublin city area is the responsibility of the Dublin Health Authority, which is also responsible for the provision of fuel depots. The Health Authority is satisfied that the location of the present depot is the best that can be arranged.
