Vol. 192 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Tipperary-West Waterford Forestry Lands.

50.

asked the Minister for Lands whether, further to a reply of 16th November on the subject of forestry land in South Tipperary and West Waterford, he will state in the form of a tabular statement or otherwise the particular areas in South Tipperary and West Waterford which his Department have at present under consideration for acquisition as forestry lands.

As I informed the Deputy in reply to his previous question, there are 231 blocks of land on offer to my Department for State Forestry purposes in South Tipperary and West Waterford, the total area on offer being about 15,000 acres. It would require a considerable amount of staff time to list particulars of all these areas as requested by the Deputy and I do not consider that the work involved would be justified. If the Deputy is interested in the position in any particular cases and lets me have details, I shall be glad to give him information.
