Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Development in Limerick.

62.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if in view of the serious lack of industrial development in Limerick City and County he will bring the area within the scope of the Undeveloped Areas Act.

In accordance with my general policy towards the application of the Undeveloped Areas Acts to areas which are fringe areas contiguous to the undeveloped areas I have already promised to bring several areas in County Limerick within the scope of the Undeveloped Areas Acts provided suitable industrial proposals are forthcoming.

In the review which is now taking place of the original concept of the undeveloped areas and industrial grants scheme due regard will be had to the question of facilitating the development of proposals for the establishment of industries in other parts of the county and in Limerick city.
