asked the Minister for Lands the total acreage of State forestry lands in County Cavan; the number of acres acquired in that county by the Forestry Division in the last three years; the number of men in whole-time employment with the Forestry Division in County Cavan; the total acreage of State forests; and the total number employed in all State forests.

The total area at present held by the Forestry Division of my Department in Co. Cavan is 5,463 acres. The area acquired in the last three years was 2,008 acres. There are at present 87 men in the direct employment of the Forestry Division at the Cavan Forests.

In the country, as a whole, the total area now held by the Forestry Division is 449,000 acres and direct employment is being provided for 4,879 men.
