asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs how many applications for telephones are outstanding in respect of South Tipperary; and if he will indicate when the requirements of the applicants will be dealt with.

There are 176 waiting applications for telephones in the South Tipperary area, most of which were made during the current year. It is hoped to provide service in about 70 cases within six months and in the remaining cases later next year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs how many applications for telephones are outstanding in respect of West Waterford ; and if he will indicate when the requirements of the applicants will be dealt with.

There are 56 applicants waiting for telephones in the West Waterford area of whom 15 will be given service within the next six months. Most of the remaining 41 applicants will, it is hoped, be given service later next year.
