As I indicated recently, in reply to a question by Deputy Treacy, the rates of allowances payable under the Infectious Diseases (Maintenance) Regulations, 1952, compare favourably with rates of other social welfare payments and, in addition to the personal allowance, there is provision for payment of rent and domestic help allowances in appropriate cases. Accordingly, the rates have not been revised.
