The number of agricultural holdings in each county and province and the total for the State is given in Table 81 of the Statistical Abstract, 1961 (Pr. No. 5984). These figures are not, however, the same as those in respect of the number of farmers and it is assumed that the latter is required by the Deputy.
Particulars of the numbers of farmers whose holdings have a rateable valuation of less than £50 are not available by county but the numbers in each province and the total in the State as given in the 1951 Census of Population, are as follows:—
