The local authority propose, in relation to the filling of the office of rate collector, to attach to that office some rent collection duties which hiterto had been discharged by an officer whom the local authority propose to remove from office subject to the consent of the Minister because of unfitness for office. The examination of this case is now completed and it is hoped to communicate with the local authority in relation to the filling of the office of rate collector at an early date.
