Vol. 194 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Removal of Nelson Statue.

48.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will take steps to have the statue of Nelson removed from the Pillar in O'Connell Street, Dublin, and have a suitable statue of Saint Patrick erected to replace it.

Legislation would be necessary to give effect to the Deputy's suggestion. It would be a matter for Dublin Corporation, rather than for me, to take the initiative.
